In the course of 2017 and for some time, there are affectations in the hydraulic concrete plate of the 26 Street between 69 Career and 69D Career in the city of Bogotá (Colombia) (See Figure 1 ).

In the sector demarcated in the Figure 1, it can be noticed, based on a visual inspection, the presence of vertical deformations in the concrete plates that make up the pavement of 26 Street on its northern side, included between 69 Career and the 69D Carrer, deformations that are evidenced by the presence of sinking and uplift of the structure, with level differences up to 30 cm, and the appearance of cracking with openings between 3 cm and 8 cm and lengths between 1.0 m. and 12.0 mt (See photographic record).

It is important to note that the described affectations in the pavement structure, influence in a negative way the conditions of stability, functionality and safety of 26 Street in the sector described, and may increase in the short term in the presence of strong and prolonged precipitation, as well as the presence of dynamic loads (eg traffic, earthquake or other).




Among the possible causes for which this type of affectations occur in the structure described, is the lack of systems for the collection, management and disposal of surface runoff flows, as well as the possibility of deformations in the materiales tha make up the foundation soil of the pavement structure, product of the excavations and other advanced works for the construction of new structures in the area, conditions that based on visual inspection can not be specified.

In accordance with what has been described above, it is important to call the different institutions of the District Administration at the head of the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá (Alcaldía Mayor de Bogotá), in order to carry out an adequate technical evaluation of the situation, whereby through specific and specialized studies, to determine the causes of the described affectations and propose adequate, efficient and effective solutions for the problem.

    Según el registro fotográfico y la descripción realizada, las grietas y deformaciones se presentan en cercanías al separador, sin juntas, sin cunetas, pero con vegetación y árboles de porte importante, lo cual aumentan la capacidad de infiltración y almacenamiento de aguas lluvias del suelo, generando así, variaciones en las condiciones de saturación bajo las cuales, seguramente se realizaron los diseños de la cimentación de la infraestructura.
    Lo anterior, demuestra la importancia de entender la influencia de las condiciones del terreno en las especificaciones técnicas para la ejecución de las obras civiles.
    ¡Buena nota! Sería interesante conocer la respuesta de las autoridades responsables.

    Las grietas que mencionan son producto de la relajación de los niveles de excavación de sótanos de edificio de enfrente, la vegetación no creo que tenga nada que ver pues en ese caso el hundimiento debiera estar principalmente de costado de separador, sugerencia reconstruir e instalar mallas de refuerzo para que las discontinuidades del suelo se vuelvan a reflejar.
